PERFORMANCE OF HIGH YIELDING RICE VARIETIES OF BANGLADESH

The performance of BRRI dhan28, dhan47, dhan50 and one exotic rice variety Koshihikari (Japanese) was observed in boro season from November, 2011 to May, 2012. varieties were evaluated on growth, yield contributing characteristics rice. In the early stages growth viz. 60 DAS, 70 DAS 90 had maximum plant height. dhan47 tallest (93.20 cm) shortest (78.32 at time harvest. stage (60 DAS) tiller number hill-1 for dhan28 (12.48) harvesting hill-1(16.08). earliest compare other because it took minimum booting (73.8 DAS), flowering (85.8 grain maturity (113.2 (124 DAS). effective per significantly higher (16.08) three high yielding Bangladesh. longest panicle length been (22.62 found (14.91 cm). spikelet panicle-1 highest (136.12 119.34 respectively) (66.42 59.57 respectively). 1000-grain weight (22.23 g) (17.32 g). (7.61 t ha-1) lowest (5.60 ha-1). straw biological Koshihikari. harvest index (59.67 %) (52.57 %).
